Orhan Silier

graduated from the Middle East Technical University’s Economics Department. 1970-1973 faculty member at the same university. In 1973 he left the university along with 50 other faculty members. In 1978, he reclined the permission of resturning to the faculty. He served as a faculty member at the Universities of Bremen, Kassel and Marburg in Germany. His doctoral thesis (Marburg; Dept.of Political Sciences) was entitled „1960-1980: A Statistical Analysis of Turkish Labor Activities“. 1986-1990 founder and Chairman of the Turkey Studies Department in the International Social History Institute (Amsterdam). Since the establishment of the History Foundation in 1991 he continues in his position as General Secretary as well as Vice Chairman of the International United Labor Historians.
